Our parliamentary petition for a new high school in the North East of Christchurch was heard at the Education and Science Select Committee on Wednesday 21 April.  Along with eight parents who came up from Christchurch to support we gave a strong presentation to the select committee.  All went well and we left the hearing quite positive.  A major concern for the Ministry of Education is a trade off in the cost implications of building a new high school in our community or massively extending and upgrading existing schools.  We will continue to work with the Ministry over the next few weeks for a positive outcome and I look forward to updating you.
